Is my pig sick? He keeps making this noise and has a slight white crust near bottom of one eye. No nasal discharge. This is not my pig in the video but he’s making the same noise. I don’t know how to post my video here.

Hi! The piggy sounds like he has a mildly stuffy nose. I would recommend to place a bowl of steaming water next to the cage and see whether that eases the breathing. If the eye crust is transparent, then it is likely that the piggy has poked its head into a dusty space or has got a load of hay dust in the face when it was refilled. ;)

A vet should be seen by tomorrow if the breathing doesn't settle down after a good sneeze and within a few hours or if it is getting worse over the course of the afternoon.

Eye crusts:
- Thick whitish eye crusts or droplets around the eyes: milky white cleaning fluid that has not completely drained away- - - Transparent crusts: watery fluid from an irritation like hay dust, hairs, or when accompanied by squinting from a scratch or hay poke. In the latter cases please see a vet promptly as eye injuries can deteriorate rather quickly.
- Thick yellow or greenish crusts: settled in URI (upper respiratory tract infection)

We are seeing the vet this afternoon. I think better safe than sorry, especially since today is Friday and our vet is closed all weekend.

Thankfully, he’s still eating and drinking and moving around. ❤️

Most vets will treat for URI to be on the safe side, so expect to come home with an antibiotic. All the best!

Hadley made this hooting noise with an upper respiratory tract infection. It did clear with antibiotics. It's great that you're seeing the vet this afternoon if they are closed on the weekend, better safe than sorry!

Hershey is much improved now but has been slow to get better. I’m hopeful that he will make a complete recovery.
