Is my piggie sick?

I’ve noticed my guinea pig sneezing lately, but today I heard him cough two times. Does this mean he is sick? He still eats/drinks normally, I haven’t seen any discharge from his eyes or nose and I took a listen to his chest and didn’t hear anything bad. He’s always been a pig who snoozes a lot so I can’t notice a difference there.

It’s always better to take them to the vets if you’re not sure! My guinea pig started to make a hooting noise and although he was still eating and drinking normally he had the start of a URI. If it is something the quicker you can catch it the better!

Always a good idea to weigh weekly too. That way you can check he’s eating enough hay. Although it can look like they’re eating normally it can be deceiving and it’s the best way to check they’re eating enough. Hope he feels better soon!

Two coughs in a day isn’t excessive. If they eat or drink too fast then it can cause them to cough as they have narrow airways. However, it’s always best to see a vet if you are concerned
