So this morning I went to see my piggies (they are outside piggies) and my oldest piggies Tammy was just lying down. When I normally go up to them I always have some food for them, and they get so excited and run around the hutch. But when I had the food Tammy was just not really the excited she still ate the food c: So I changed the food and that stuff I came back and Tammy was still lying in the same spot :o I had to go somewhere then I came back and she is normally very hyper! But she was just lying in the same spot. I went to check on her about 2 hours later ( went somewhere again) and she was still there, I gave her some more food and she ate it. But she isn't hyper, she isn't like Tammy :o She has sneezed a few times but I don't think she has a cold or anything. I just want to know if she is okay, is it that shes just getting to old to do anything?

Take her to vet, as soon as, otherwise you may lose her, take her indoors where it's warmer.
okay thank you x But the problem is that my parents don't like animals inside :o but I'm getting them a shed for the hutch will that be warm?

He does need to be indoors, if he's unwell & getting on in years you have to ask your parents if he could come in while he's unwell, & tell them he's to old to be outside.@Wiebke

Is your pig able to move? Or just doesnt want to?

Definately needs to see a vet for a thorough examination
It can move but I think she doesn't want to. I have also realised she is tired nearly day :o So i don't know if this also has something to do with the way she is acting

Please have her seen by a vet as soon as possible! Lethargy and not eating counts as a life and death emergency.
Start topping her up with syringe feed and water, but do not force her if she struggles/is too weak to swallow (give her only 0.1-0.3 ml at once so things don't go down the wrong way). Keep her warm, but not hot; she belongs inside!

okay thank you :) I have been wrapping her up in a blanket to keep her warm and I have been hand feeding her for today. Tomorrow I am taking her to the vets

Please bring her inside. She needs the warmth. if necessary, show this thread to your parents. Your girl is VERY ill.

okay thank you :) we have a little room that we don't use I will put them in there for now. Its close to my room

Have you got microwaveable snugglesafes? Make sure that the heating is on in the room.

My parents wont let my guinea pigs still:bye::eek:
That's frustrating. She stands a much better chance of recovery in a consistent and warm temperature. If your parents understand this and still won't let you take her indoors during her illness then I'm not sure what to suggest. I mean no disrespect to your parents, I am one myself and do not wish to cause a family argument. It's a tough one though. Do you have any relatives near-by who would take them in temporarily?

I am very sorry - how is your girl today?

None of relatives have any room for them :c but shes acting a bit better today, i hope she gets well quick before it starts snowing and that cold stuff :(

If you can't bring her inside then make sure the hutch where she is kept is super warm, very sheltered and well away from draughts.
Do you have a hutch cover to use at night?
Maybe also add some insulation around the outside (bubble wrap or foam insulation) and make sure the bedroom area is kept topped up with dry hay and lots of substrate.
If she is laying in the same position a lot then also check her for urine on her fur which could result in a painful skin problem.
Good luck with her - it sounds like you are doing everything possible for your lovely girl.
