So I'm back with my piggy Caramel again, (BTW my last thread she was okay, she wasn't sick, she just needed some vitamins and so forth.) But now she is not eating her bowl of food.
Recently I went on a trip and left my piggy here since it was such a long trip and she is an older Guinea pig so I didn't want to risk anything. Anyways sadly my caretaker didn't clean her cage and she had to sit there in her messy cage for the rest of the time I was gone (about 2 weeks) and she seemed to be fine. But I began to notice she isn't eating her bowl of food. She'd eat her hay and veggies. But none of her hard food. And as I said before, she's getting up there in years (I don't know her exact age, I just know she's pretty old)
I'm not sure what to do, but if anyone could, I'd love to get some help. Thank you for reading!

I would get her to a vet so they can give her a good check over. There could be any number of reasons. It's good she is eating her hay and veg. Has she lost any weight? Have you tried her with a different food?

Could you update your location on your profile as it will help us with any advice we can give.

Please have your girl thoroughly checked by a vet, including her back teeth, which could have become overgrown. No longer eating all her food groups is usually a sign of a developing health problem. I am sorry that your girl has had such poorly care during your absence. It is very upsetting and frustrating.

Switch to weighing her daily at the same time to monitor her food intake instead of the regular weekly weigh-in. If she has lost weight, please step in with syringe feeding asap.
Here is our step-by-step guide that gives you all the necessary information: Complete Syringe Feeding Guide
