Hello, I'm new to owning piggys and have had my boys for one year now. They have vegetables every morning and when they come out for floortime. Are all my vegetables that I feed ok?
The ones with the stars are the ones I feed daily, all others are everyother day.

*2 Baby carrots
*Cucumber
*Cerlery/leaves
*Peppers - yellow/green
Brocolli
Cabbage
Kale
Rocket
Spinich
Watercress
Sweetcorn baby or corn on cob+leaves
Spinich
Parsley
*Lettuce all types but not iceberg.
Swede
Parsnip
Chicory
Green beans
Courgette

They do have apples as a treat but dont seem to like any other fruits. I also feed them grass, clover and dandilions. They have a outdoor run for the summer and I bring grass in for them as I know its not been treated as its from my own garden. I have only now introduced the courgette and peppers as they didnt seem to eat them before.
Also how much vegetables should they have daily? I fill there bowl full to the top (overflowing) its the red dish that came with the nero 4 cage (they share the veg form it) and they have veg on the floor during floortimes with grass, but I dont feed grass daily. They also have treats from my dad during the day like dandilion leaves or parsley.
Just wanted to know if they are getting enough. I also fed them gerty guinea pig and they almost clean there bowls every day and of course they have unlimited hay which they love. I just bought a small bale from a farm and they love it.
Sorry for the long post just want to make sure my boys are having enough.:))

That's quite a list there - i think it sounds great. I know some people say no to carrots every day. I give mine a small piece of carrot every day though but only a small piece.

Where about did you get your small bale from? I want to get one to tide me over but don't know where to go.

My mother goes camping alot and I got it from ammanford its near carmarthan but I was told by them that if you see a local farmer they will sell you some. Or try a local horse supplies I know of a good one by me who I get my gerty off but I guess its to far for you. I looked in the yellow pages and found loads of horse supplies I'm sure that there is one near you.

It's a great list!

If you want to vary the herbs (mine get a sprinkle every day; I have them in pots on the windowsill, but dry herbs will do as well: basil, coriander, dill, fennel, mint).

You can also use the outer leaves from a cauliflower and, in winter, Brussels sprouts tops. They're all part of the cabbage family.

Try ripe pears, halved grapes, melons as fruit.

More fruit

My girls also like the skin off kiwi fruit and the tops off strawberries, but their all-time favourite has to be basil - the only time I have to be careful they might bite my fingers is when I have been picking basil as they get confused about where the basil starts and the finger ends!

Thanks i'll do that. I don't mind travelling for my pet supplies though.

Could save me a fortune!

Halved seedless grapes go down a storm here - they get 1/2 a grape each once every other day. They always get eaten in their first round.

I will try them on the other herbs. I would love to grow my own, but I'm not very good at keeping plants etc. I do buy the shop grown in the little pots, can you plant these in a small plant pots in the kitchen?
Thanks for the advice on fruits will try my boys on them too.

LisaJazz I only paid £4.75 for my 'small bale' its massive its about 4ft tall and 2ft wide! I'm sure it will last me a while. Ive put some in there cage, hutch and in brown paper bags for floortime, it goes down a treat they love it!
