Is Overlaping C&c Grids Safe Enough For Guinea Pig Loft?

Hi there I've just ordered my C&C grids today so should arrive just in time for my week off work
Currently the space where the cage/house will be is 4cm too short each way for a 2x4 grid pattern. I know I can overlap the bottom section but will a loft floor still be safe enough with overlap? I plan on using cable/zip ties to make them extra secure. Just wondering what other peoples thoughts are? Its the only space we have however as the house we rent is a small 2 bedroom. We currently have 2 small 8week old guinea pigs who are in a 50x100cm cage with daily access to a safe penned floor space. Thank you in advance

Yes it will check out our setup. Notice how we have overlapped for height and also width to make space for the ramp.

Yeah I've overlapped before, I think the correx would stop them from getting caught.

As long as you make sure it is held with cable ties that they cant access and chew then the overlap should be fine
