I was planning on growing some of this for the piggies and chickens this year but after a few Google searches it appears to be poisonous in large amounts, but it's listed as a daily safe food on the guinea pig safe food list

I'm afraid I have no idea, I have never fed it. Hopefully some one else will come along soon and be able to advise you

I feed Swiss and rainbow chard to my lot which is safe and they love it! I cant inagine one certain type being poisonous. It can be a food with a fair bit of calcium though and gets labelled as 'gassy' from time to time. Youll often find some sites will just class somethig as 'toxic' or poisonous without any real reason why, especially if its a food they should only get in moderation due to confusion or lack of understanding.
From what I've read, all types of chard are safe and I'd be inclined to believe that as it seems logical to me that it'd be all types or no types at all would be safe.

My girls happily eat chard - not all the time but once or twice a week as part of a mixed bag of leaves.
They’re all still thriving.
I think it’s like most things - be sensible about how much of anything you feed

I'm pretty sure Swiss Chard is safe. I've never feed it but my friends that have pigs have and they are very healthy!

it's like beetroot tops, which mine love as well as the chard, and the beetroot too.

Mine are often given presents of chard from my neighbour's allotment and they love it. They've suffered no ill effects

My lot go nuts for Rainbow Chard!. They don't get it very often but when they do all hell breaks loose if I don't divide the pieces up!

Not tried my lot on beetroot tops but coming to think of it Lenny & Gizmo (Rainbow Piggies) used to love them!
