So i was just sitting here thinking about treats every few days. for simple math lets set you give your piggy a berry every 3 days and that was healthy sugar wise. is there a difference between that and giving them 1/3rd of a berry every day? cause I'm starting to think that might be healthier then the binge of sugar in that one day. the 1/3 per day gives a steady but low amount of sugar that the body can then adjust to. Also if you just wait a day or so before getting more berries that would allow all sugar to get out of their system. Any one got an opinion on this.

If I get in a pot of blueberries I give the pigs one each and they eat it but to be honest I get the impression it''s all a bit 'meh' for them! I might give another the next day but then we humans have usually eaten them all. Grapes are the same - I might give a small one each and they'll eat them but they're not bothered. I'd go for the 'one every 3 days' rather than a bit each day though. But we don't usually do fruit at all - we're pretty good with fruit, although I'm naughty with carrot slices! Mine demand cucumber every morning. Then pepper. In that order. You just know when you try to mix it up a bit that they're not getting what they expect. Flora in particular gets a right face on her. Usually a third lump of something variable is expected - then they'll settle to the hay pile.

When we bring grass in they'd have your hand off. There's a deafening squeaking competition. Louise - my fat beauty with the sweet tooth - gets so excited she runs in circles not knowing what to do! Nothing else comes close. Heaven comes in a rustley bag 🥰

The odd tiny bit of fruit is ok but to be honest I think the human enjoys spoiling them (me) more than the actual piggie enjoying it. All mine much prefer a little bit of grass or a dandelion leaf or even a slice of carrot or share half a corn cob than fruit 😊
