i give my guinea pig veggies in the morning and evening. This consists of a bit of cucumber, a bit of celery, carrot, cabbage, parsnip and occasionally the carrot leaves when I can get them and sometimes spinach. Along with this, he always has a bowl of pellets.
Every afternoon he gets fresh grass.
Of course he's always got Timothy hay available and water.

I'm just making sure I'm doing everything right, do you think he's getting enough vitamin C and things?

Hello

Welcome to the forum

Wow you get them to eat Parsnip?

Have a read of this - Edible And Forbidden Veg And Fruit List With Vitamin C Grading

It helped us no end when we started with piggies

Aim for 1 cup of mixed veg split into breakfast and tea. Unlimited hay at all times and a small bowl of pellets morning and night.

Diet should be 80-85% good quality hay, 10-15% veg, 5% pellets

We feed typically
Morning: Cucumber, Celery, Red/green/yellow pepper (deseeded)
Tea: Cucumber, Coriander or Lettuce swapping in Parsley or Cabbage of some sort once/twice a week
and add carrot, broccoli, spinach occasionally

Hope that helps

My two like parsnip too. Is that really unusual? They also love all the foods they can only have once in a blue moon (shopping for their veg absolutely sucks) and tonight have had a rare treat of radish leaf torn into four bits. Everything has to be cut up into fours because I have a food hog and it stops the girls from fighting over food. Diet is much the same as sport-billy except we are not big cabbage eaters so they get a small pinch of rocket at dinner and occasionally a sprig of dill instead.

We only had one pig that liked it. Ha ha we have a food hog too!

Thank you for your replies!
Yeah, mine loves parsnip :D I don't give too much though.
I'm probably going to start including peppers and parsley.
Dill is a favourite at our house as well :D
