Hi, I currently have two boars that are on the pets at home guinea pig nuggets (they came on that and never switched them as they liked it). Over the past few months they seem to be eating less pellets. They always eat their veg and hay so I know that it's not a health issue. I'm wondering now if they dislike the taste or that they are getting bored of it. I've been thinking and I'm wondering If giving them a mix of pellets would be a good idea. Would this cause tummy upsets?!? I was going to mix pets at homes nuggets with burgess or supreme (either one) and I was going to see if they liked fibafirst (one/two sticks every few days) it probably would cost a lot but I would rather they had something they liked to eat than something they didn't. So overall it would consist of p@h nuggets, supreme or burgess and a few sticks of fibafirst x is this a good idea?!? Just for a variety x thanks x

mine are on burgess tasty nuggets ( not the blackcurrant, none of my current or previous pigs or cousin's pigs seem to like them ) But they really like the normal ones. I won't upset their tummies if you switch slowly, gradually building up the amount of new nuggets and decreasing the old ones. It would be a good idea so you find what they like the most (: I have no idea what fibafirst is!

Hehe! Fibafirst are like pellets in stick form! Heh pets at home sell them as they now have a new pellet range x

They only have one egg full cup each a day.Mine are on asda nuggets. They seem to like them. Two quid for two kilos

Hahaha I don't think I'll be buying fibafirst hehe thx for the tips guys x

I've seen the asda nuggets but never bought them. On a scale of 1 to 10 what do your pigs rate them?!? (1 being bad and 10 being good)

Mine have a mix of Harringtons pellets & Wagg Guinea Crunch, but only a tiny amount to break the boredom. I put a few Burgess Blackcurrant ones in as well. I think maybe reduce the pellets they are on & put a few of something else in gradually for them to try :)

Yeah I'm gonna do tht thx for The advice anyway though! :agr::nod:

Mine never took to Fibafirst. If you are wanting to try it, I suggest you email the company and ask for a sample.

Might do, my boys are picky! Lol they hate most fruit banana, orange, tomato, raspberry, strawberry (like the tops), there's a lot of things they don't like lol including pets at homes pellets lol x

Mine started off on Pets at Home own brand but I was put off as I couldn't find a full nutritional breakdown on the packet. I emailed P@H and they never got back to me . I also try to avoid buying products from shops that sell live mammals .

I have now weaned them onto a 50/50 mix of Oxbow Cavy Cuisine and Science Selective.

Mine are on Burgess with mint and burgess blackcurrant and oregano. I switch bags when one ends. They were on WAGG but I didn't like the fact they just ate certain stuff out of it.
