sawdust isn't good, woodshavings are what you want! and mineral stones are a big no-no though petshops love to push them. maybe you could get a soft pet brush? sounds like you've got everything, like you say it's best to keep them on what they're on for now x

oops sorry claire posted at same time as you lol

Ok so i'll take the sawdust back and get woodshaving's, i wont use the mineral stone either.

strictly, it isn't advisable to use woodshavings or sawdust, because they can both cause uri's and sore feet :(

I use woodshaving but put lots of straw on top! Can also use newspaper under the woodshaving/straw to soak up the wee wee....

i use fleece and newspaper indoors with hay socks and out doors the piggys have sawdust with newspaper on top and lots of hay on top of that.It is not ideal but does work

whats wrong with mineral stones?

Guinea pigs don't need extra minerals any more than we need to. Excess minerals can lead to bladder stones and other complications. You wouldn't see a human licking a salt brick :))

I'm also not a fan of woodshavings as I've seen the damage they can do to skin, it's not nice. I recommend fleece or megazorb.

Also I would consider a friend for him. A single piggy is a lonely piggy and having two is no more effort than one.

If you're buying from a pet shop for one pig, carefresh is a good bedding (it's the same as megazorb really) pets at home sell carefresh if that helps
