I'm new to this outdoor life and have been considering whether or not I am using the best bedding for them.

We have 3 pigs who are outside in a thistle hall hutch. They have a custom made cover from ebay which is thermal insulated and has a clear cover for the day and a night cover.
At the moment they have the whole hutch lined with newspaper. In the bedroom area they have loads of hay. In the upstairs normal area they have vetbed, downstairs at the moment they just have the newspaper, mainly because they seem really clean down there with just one random wee in the whole week last week (they do go down there)!

Does this sound ok? I'm happy for any suggestions

As long as they have an area with solid walls and door where they area all able to bury themselves fully in the hay they should be fine. By solid walls and door I mean having that area where they pop through the hole to get to the sleeping area. Come winter time ensuring that the sleeping area is complety dry is important.
Sounds like a nice pad they have.
