I’ve no clue what this is so hoping for some help. There is a lot of it growing in the garden. 4191A53E-4A2E-47A1-AD58-40BA86D6025C.jpegF36830CB-408B-446A-BBFD-AE0D2D956FAA.jpeg2EB29C28-F647-44E1-84BA-B5EBB7E47E9E.jpeg

Looks like dock to me, or maybe sorrel, both can be eaten when young but not once flowered, personally I avoid feeding them just in case.

I agree with dock. If we had been stung by a stinging need, my mum used to look around for a dock leaf, pick it, spit on it and rub it on the sting and it used to take the stinging sensation away.

Yep, definitely dock and I see you have sticky goose grass too- my piggies like that. Have no idea whether dock is safe to eat or not though.

Yes! We used to to that too. Happy childhood memories of playing “down the canal” with all the children from my street. Bliss

Thank you all. I thought it may be but wasn’t sure. @Pound Shilling & Pig why do you avoid feeding it? None have flowered yet though.

I think that the oxalic acid is much higher once it has flowered but am cautious of oxalic acid in general because it is a bladder irritant and can contribute to bladder problems. I don't feed spinach or beetroot leaves either for the same reason.
