So this morning I received my fleece, I settled for the yellow polka dots and bunnies in the end x) the yellow fleece is the usual polar fleece, but the bunny fleece is not..it is listed as "microfleece", I didn't really notice when I bought it. It's super soft, gorgeous infact. However, as I cut it up, little fuzzy bits covered my living area! Is this type of fleece going to fray? Or should I just put it in the wash (again) after cutting it-will the fuzzy bits go away eventually? I've already washed it 3 times to shrink it, and prepare it for wicking away moisture...!

That's really strange. Are you sure it's the same? This is more like...a short pile fake fur? It's so soft, really snuggly, but all the fluffy fibres are coming off at the edges :-( I just put it on a dry spin in the washing machine, and bits are still coming off...maybe I should just over-lock it with my sewing machine....

Yes my red one its really fluffy and i washed it 3/4 times and it dosnt fray now.

I'd suggest edging it (using the overlocker), it sounds very similar to cotton which frays awfully :( I edge all my fleece/materiels even the ones that dont fray, but find espically newly bought fleece needs a couple of washes in the machine.

Ohhh and theres a website explaining microfleece :))

Hope this helps :)

It will keep fraying at the edge. I would turn over the edge twice and sew so that all of the loose edge is hidden inside. :)

I was planning on making oval piggy rugs with the scraps that aren't big enough for a complete liner..would be a bit fiddly to turn the hems on them, so will overlock the rugs, and turn seams on the liner :)

Oooh tell us how it goes, i was actually going to order that grey bunny and bear fleece myself but i really dislike edging materiel lol! :))
