Hi - I'd recommend pellets if you can get them. The problem with muslie style food is that some piggies selectively feed and only pick certain bits out. This is not as healthy for them and can cost you more in the long run.

We feed Wagg optimum for the girls and burgess excel for Megan. I personally don't think there is much difference in the dry food so go for the most convienent for you in terms of price and availability.

We used to feed our old girls gerty which is a muslie like your link as it was the easiest to get hold of and it was fine but now i can get the pellets i won't go back.

Just make sure your pigs are getting unlimited hay and thier fresh veges the don't worry about the dry food as it is less important.

I would agree, Its not REALLY bad for them or anything, so dont panic, but if you can buy the pellets and move them over to those in the long term it would be better.

The trouble is, piggies pick out the bits of musli that they like, and because each bit has different nutrients in it, if they leave any, they arnt getting a complete diet. :)

Pellets would be better for them I'm afraid. Piggies will selectively feed from this mix, picking out the yummy less good for them bits and leaving others. They wouldnt have such a balanced diet etc with it. Pellets stop selective feeding and esure your piggie is getting a balanced whole diet. Along with unlimited hay too. :)

Welcome to the world of piggies by the way.

No it's not healthy for piggies as it contains EC colourants :( Don't give your piggies anything with artificial colourants in it!

If you must feed a muesli type mix, use Wagg Guinea Crunch, mix it with Burgess Excel/Blackcurrant & Oregano or similar pellets. I use Wagg Optimum from Asda at the moment & my piggies love the pellets, & eat every scrap rolleyes

Today I went to pets at home and got them burgess excel with blackcurrent and they love it :) only thing is its £5.39! Where caan I get it cheaper?

I feed my pigs both. They have a bowl of Wagg guinea pig crunch which they love and a bowl of nuggets. They normally have pets at home but appear to have gone off them so I'm going to try them on science selective with.dandelion, fennel and nettles tomorrow x

There's a little shop not too far from Nuneaton that sells burgess 10kg bag for £17...
