Is this impaction?

Hi all, this is my first post. I have 12 piggies, 11 sows and 1 neutered boar, he is 17 months old. He has a lump to the side of his privates. I researched about impaction and me and hubby just gave him a bum bath and i used a cotton bud to clean him but hubby was worried about hurting him when pressing to check for impaction so wondering if he should go to a vet. Doez anyone know by the look of the pic if it looks like impaction or something else. Thank u

I don’t have any experience with impaction but I would definitely get him to a vet as that looks painful for him.

Not sure but yea a vet would be the best option. Why is he so wet? Is he ok?

i would possibly get him checked at the vet.it does not appear to be impaction from what i can see. i would pop along in the next 48 hours.just in case it maybe an infection,lump,hernia,but I'm not too sure what it is please keep the forum informed.you are a very caring owner ,and promptly observed this.

With impaction the swelling would be around the anal sac and not in front of the penis. A lump like this is not normal and does need a vet to investigate for a proper diagnosis. You can use our vet locator in the top bar to find a knowledgeable piggy vet near you

Just seen this thread. My concern would be that it is a late post neutering abscess, a vet check is definitely needed. Hope he is ok.
