Hi all, I’m a new guinea pig owner. I’ve seen many posts about urine, but I just wanted to make sure this was normal. Any info would help please.

Hi!

Milky calcium pees are the normal way of the body to excrete any excess calcium in the diet.

That is nothing to worry about if it is just the odd very occasional milky pee unless you notice them on a daily or near daily basis. In this case, I would strongly recommend to review your diet to minimise the risk of bladder stones and if necessary have your piggy vet checked if you notice straining/squeaking when peeing in the days after. Calcium pees can be an early symptom of a beginning cystitis.
Calcium pees dry as a whiteish powdery substance. If you notice hard gritty bits in the powder, please have your piggy vet checked for crystals in the bladder.

Thank you! I waited to see some dry. The pee dried quite normal, you could barely tell he had went. He also got some on my black leggings and you can’t even see where he peed on me lol. What do you recommend for every day diet? Just want to do what’s best for him. He’s my baby! I attached a pic of some of the dry pee.

Please click on the green links in my previous post. One is a guide on what is normal and what not and the other is our detailed and very comprehensive diet guide which looks at all food groups (calcium, especially in the UK, comes usually more from the hard water and pellets than from veg, but it also contains a sample veg diet picture. Well worth having a look at!
