Hi! I have two female guinea pigs, they are both recuses, who are a year old. They are a bonded pair and I've had them since January.
One of them, her name is Calico who tends to be on the more sassy, shy side has recently seemed more observant of me. She has lately been watching me, walking up to me, sometimes squeaking, and also will not go to bed unless I do.

Is this normal?

My guinea pigs also like to chew on their igloo from amazon. That's safe correct?
Thanks

I think it is lovely, and it sounds like your guinea pigs are really settled in their new home and bonded with you.

Ad far as the chewing goes I think this is normal - some pigs are chewers and some less so.
As long as they have plenty of other things to chew (wooden items) then they should be ok.
If she starts chewing too much maybe remove the plastic igloo and replace it with a wooden alternative.

Phew! Thank you so much!

Just wanted to add :agr: with above advice .

I used to use Duck tape to secure fleeces - Guineas chewed it .
I did a photoshoot for Valentines day with a plastic rose - had to stop as Sparkle started eating the rose .

I much prefer wooden hideys .

Thanks! One question about switching hideys. My piggies have always had a igloo and never a wood hut. They can adjust or should I keep both?

I'm not sure what your set up is ....

Mine are in a hutch .

I tend to try new things in their run when they are having floor time and. if they like them , put them in their hutch.
