My friend notice that Rohan made a bit of a noise when he breathed in and said that his sides shouldn't be moving as much as they were when he breathed in. Naturally I'm now panicking wondering if there's something wrong with him.

He is eating, pooing and weeing as normal, he was even popcorning on Thursday when I cleaned the cage out. He has been lounging around the cage a bit more recently due to the warmer weather, but then again so has Paddy so I'm not overly concerned about that. I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary with him apart from this slight noise when he breathes and also he twitches his head a fair amount too, but he has always done this, from day one of me having him and I've had him over a year and a half now.

Just wondering whether it's normal: (please note he had just had his nails clipped, bum and boy bits cleaned and had a groom before I filmed this video, so he's likely to have been a bit stressed as he doesn't like having this done.) Turn your sound right up as it's fairly quiet.

@Wiebke didnt know who else to tag, hope this is ok.

He does seem stressed but there is a click there with breathing which may or may not be a problem. Please have him checked by a vet to rule out any mucous/fluid in his lungs or airways.

I agree with Adele, appart from the breathing there is a slight clicking ! If you hold his chest up to your ear you may hear clicking ,

If he were my pig l would be on my way to the vets now !

Update:

I took Rohan to the vets this morning and it's good news. He doesn't have any infections, no fluid on his lungs and no heart murmur. The vet did a thorough exam and said that there are no obvious problems. She thinks that the clicking noise could be due to his larynx closing slightly when he's taking a breath, but said that other than that he's in great health.

So I'm pleased :) I'll just have to keep stress to a minimum for him to keep his breathing as calm as possible. :)
