One of my guinea pigs had a small scab on their back which has now fallen of. I noticed that on the scab there was some of his fur and there is now a bald patch where the scab once was. It has heeled nicely I'm just a bit worried incase it is symptoms of an infection etc.. I have an appointment at the vets for saturday so i will ask them I'm just wondering if i need to push the appointment foward or not. Thanks

I agree, could be a sign of a skin problem e.g. mites or fungal.

There is a chance it's an old war wound that scabbed and has come away with the hair, it's been known to happen, but I wouldn't trust that it is just this, I would personally want to rule out mites and fungal simply by treating for them both.

Thanks everyone. He doesn't seem to be scratching more than normal as neither does my other one.
