My two girlies live in a Ferplast 120 and they seem to love it.
I think it's ok as long as they have plenty of floor time but just lately they seem to hide all the time. They used to explore when out but no more. Floor time isn't fun for them.
As soon as I put them back in their Ferplast cage they popcorn and go crazy. They love going back 'home' to their cage.
I hope this is normal and it only means they feel more secure in their cage.
Any opinions folks? :{

Ha yes mine often go crazy when they go back in their cage. But I'm sure they appreciate the floor time too. Some days Clive spends his whole floor time stationary under the couch but I just let him be. They might like the change of scene / smells, even if they're not showing it ;)

They like the change of scene, but new open spaces take some getting used to. You can entice them out by draping/pegging a beach towel over it.

Yes, like Wiebke says make sure they have bits to shelter under. I take the stuff out of the cage, tunnels etc. and put it around the room. They have their floor time in the living room and pootle around OK but if we take them in a different room it's back to square one and they both hide. It all takes time :) Lately Burt was popcorning like mad when I made a 'shelter' by hunching my knees up, he kept running under me then squeaking and leaping. He is awesome :)

I've just introduced my piggies to floortime yesterday was their first time, haha! They just sat there looking all confused! Hopefully today goes better, I'll just have to persist! :)

Mine don't tend to explore much any more. Don't know if it's an age thing or they're just bored :{ i can leave them all day with the cage wide open and they wont come out. If I get them out within 10 mins they are chewing on the bars trying to get back in the cage rolleyes I've found the hallway is quite a nice place for them to run in as it's just long and straight so they can't get behind the TV and chew cables :))
