Is this pig pregnant?

I went to Longleat the other day. Spotted this little one and imediatly thought she was pregnant. Upon speaking th the staff i was told "we have about 30 females and 2 males which are neutered' i told them one of the pigs looked very pregnant to me and she said "they've been neuterd for 5 years and haven't had any babies yet". She was very nice and polite, but i fear i was being fobbed off. I will be sending them a nice e-mail soon. Also they had a bunny with a wound on him and i will ask about that too.

I'm not sure, but she looks pregnant to me. However, what would be the benefit of them lying to you? What is Longleat? Could you tell them that she has one of two things- babies or cysts and see if they're willing to adopt her to you? Tell them that if she's not pregnant than the cysts will be very expensive and tell them that if she is pregnant neutering the boys and potential vet bills if there are problems will be very expensive. You could say you're with a rescue if they don't look sure, and that might help.

Oh yeah, that was it she said they were just well fed and basically just fat. Thats piggie doesn't look just fat to me.

Longleat has a drive round safari (where one of the little monkeys nearly broke my windscreen wiper!) then it has 'pet corner' in the main area. Just an attraction really. They do have a website. www.longleat.co.uk
 
The pattern of patchy hair on her sides looks very like what happens with ovarian cysts to me.

That said some pigs are just very pear shaped anyway - I'd say it was unlikely she was pregnant as if there was an entire boar in there you would expect there to be an awful lot more than one of them pregnant if you know what I mean!

I was thinking about the way of the hair too :)

The pic you sent me Karen doesn't make her out to be that big! LOL She's huge poor love. Go and nab her! (joke)

Yes it was a bad copy. A pic of a pic never comes out right. I will e-mail them tomorrow and see what they have to say.
