Also if it is ringworm I'd hate to think that I've done anything to cause this. I clean the cage out everyday and do my very best by him and his cage mate who is showing no signs of this. I've had the pictured piggy for 3 weeks and his friend for 5 months. Thank u for any help
Please do not treat on spec before seeing a vet; it is like wiping a crime scene. Also do not treat on spec with cheap shop products; you can easily end up paying a lot more for an advanced case than if you do it the right way from the start.
We are legally not allowed to diagnose just from a picture nor are we qualified enough to replace a hands-on vet visit. We can only tell you when to see a vet, what avenues to pursue with them and support you during care.
You can reclaim any vet cost incurred in the first 2-3 weeks after purchase from the shop by presenting sales receipt together with the vet bill. Exposure and infection will have happened at the shop. The period between infection and outbreak is 10-14 days, but spores can be carried in the coat and delay the outbreak.
You always need to treat both piggies; the second to prevent from coming down with it too. Please take the time to read our guide. It talks you through everything.
Please make sure that you invest in a good vet strength antifungal disinfectant. We strongly recommend F10, which is the only one proven to also kill ringworm spores. Please make sure that you read our hygiene tips; they have been learned the hard way - that is why they actually work and will help you get past the ringworm without having to worry about a return. Please be aware that ringworm is the single most transmittable issue that can spread between all mammals, humans included.
It's so annoying that I found this on a Saturday now I can't take him to the vets until after work tomorrow. It can't come quick enough as I'm full of worry. Especially as I've found a patch of something on one of my dogs ears. I'm hoping that this is just coincidence and I'm dealing with something other than ringworm or anything else contagious come to that
