Hi general question just looking for advice please. My guinea pigs have this wooden hutch, but they chew it constantly and I’m pretty sure they eat the wood , I think it’s safe but want to double check

So you think it’s ok if they actually digest the wood? I thought they’d spit it out but they don’t they eat it lol. But they chew it which is the main thing lol!

I wouldnt worry about it. Looks the same as any hutch to me . My pigs eat bark off their hideys. No troubles

piggies are rodents, their teeth are always growing, so they need to chew all the time to keep their teeth down, if you can get some logs of hard wood like fruit woods ,is great for them, and might taste better that their ramp.

They have chew toys and wooden tunnels in their cage. It was just a general question as to wether or not they can eat their hutch. But other wooden toys are always available to them

Aslong as guinea pigs are eating enough good quality hay, their front teeth are fine

Yep. They always have access to Timothy hay also never had problems with their teeth

My pigs eat the wood on there cage lol (it's a homemade wooden one)
