Is this sound a bad sign?

Hi! Patches has always had issues with allergies, but tonight she’s making a new sound I haven’t heard before. It’s hard to describe so I was going to post a video, but the server says the file is too large. It’s almost like a grunt, but it’s frequent like she is having trouble breathing. When we first noticed issues with her sneezing and whatnot, we got her to a vet asap. The vet checked her airways and said nothing is wrong, sneezing just might be something she does. But this sound is new to me so I’m a little concerned. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it might be or how to help?

That sounds just like an annoyance sound guinea pigs make, mine do it when they hear the door bell or any other not familiar noise.

Just to let you know this forum doesnt let you upload videos directly. To do with expenses, youtube is the best way 👍

I have just listened carefuly with my phone to my ear, I'm 99% sure thats just one of their sounds. Mine do it too

I've heard her make that sound before, I guess it's just been a long time because it sounded different to me. Thank you! This place is always my go-to for answers, you guys are great.

Just to note though i cant say i am correct, do keep any eye on things like eye discharge, nose or any breathing problems.

I have quite a bit of experience with u.r.i's in guinea pigs, unfortunatly. Signs will be -

Hiding awaý all the time
Poor appetite
Runny eyes and nose
Alot of sneezing and crackly nose

It is very difficult to say, but at the very worst your piggy has got a slightly stuffy nose from a little hay dust. Otherwise, it is just normal.
If you are worried about a respiratory infection (URI), you can find information in this link here: What to check and look out for in new guinea pigs (vet checks, sexing, parasites&illness)
