something breathable would be better. either cardboard or even those laundry wicker baskets. it can sweat in anything plastic so i wouldn't use those, but i know lots of people who do use plastic storage and say it works fine. i use cardboard and wicker baskets personally though :)

I have a plastic laundry basket made by curver with bigish holes, into that I have put a single duvet so that hay doesn't come out the holes but is still breathable. i'll see if I can fit the basket for you on internet

yeh, duvet covers are meant to be good aswell. the laundry wicker basket i have has a cotton lining aswell. it looks nice aswell in the room :)

Thanks guys, would you say I should stop storing in the bag it comes in then? I can't say I've had any issues with it so far, but maybe would do in the summer when the temperature rises.

I think it is personal choice I get my bedding hay in bales so I need to put it in something. The timothy I buy from wilkos and leave that in the bags as it doesnt last more than a week.
