When we introduced Cookie to Snowball back in July they got on instantly! I think that's because Snowball was 18 months older than Cookie.
They have never pecked each other or anything. But Snowball is VERY dopey and i think Cookie is learning from him as he's pretty laid back too.

Anyway I was just wondering is it normal or unusual for two boars to have such a close bond? They eat together, snatch each others food(they don't care), they snuggle up together and when i bring them indoors they won't be apart, on floor time if Cookie gets brave and runs off from Snowball his quick to return.

I was just wondering because I read boys are territorial yet they share everything.

I hope they stay like this, as Cookie still hasn't grown out the 'hormonal phase':(|) Although it hasn't effected him yet!

Not unusual at all! ive two pairs of boys - my father and son pairing are not what i would call 'close' i think they tolerate each other, but that's because i think they are very similar in personality.

My other boar pairing (Shadow and Elvis) are the complete opposite - they are always chasing one another around, popcorning as they go - where ever the one is you'll find the other not too far behind - they quite often give one another 'piggie' kisses and love nothing more than playing the 'humping' game :)) When Shadow had to be separated for a URI he missed Elvis incredibly x>>

Mojo and Rex (RIP) paired up instantly, I think piggies must have pigs they got on with so well like humans do

Every other bonded pair of boars I had always did exactly the same they were all so close and would snuggle up and sleep together. Henry and Alfie, who I have now despite being brothers won't lie next to one another to sleep they lie at opposite sides of the cage to one another, they chase one another round the cage sometimes too. However if you take one of them away the other one starts shouting "OI BRING BACK MY BROTHER"

Aww bless them. That's exactly like our sows, the one pecks the other one, they don't share bowls or anything, yet if we take one away the other one will wheek!

Not unusual at all! In fact its really sweet :<> They must be really close ^)

They're very close, tonight I had Snowball on my lap eating his carrot and Cookie was in the hutch...he wasn't keen on eating it until Snowball came back:(|) They have two bowls too and Cookie goes and shares with him!x)

Hi

I have two boars who I have had since they were 8 weeks old and they adore each other :)

They both run to greet me in the morning, if one goes up to the hayrack the other follows and if I take one out to clip his nails for example the pig on his own in the cage wheeks the place down!

The sweetest thing is when they run round following each other, wheeking and popcorning - so funny and very cute x)x)
