It's ok to use but I find it quite low quality compared to lots of others, large bits of wood, dust, bits of plastic bags etc. So you'll need to break it up quite well to check through it just in case. Snowflake shavings are also quite cheap for the amount you get and can be bought in B&M, I used to use those when I hurt my back and couldn't handle getting 20kg bales of pureflake or thoroughbred shavings
