Hi all! long time no post - just the occasional lurk due to various issues which will hopefully soon be a thing of the past - loads of new faces too! and love Lee's piccies - will send a donation via paypal if someone can shout me the adrress.
Noodles is currently on Septrin for an abcess on her bum - vet doesn't want to operate because of the position of it - so is trying a long course of septrin - but I think in the past on here there have been several members who have had more success with zithromax - can Debbie / Helen or anyone else confirm this please? - I can then ask my vet to try this as a last resort before surgery if the septrin doesn't work (which I have a feeling it won't ).

Zithromax is without doubt the best antibiotic to use for most abscesses. However, you do need to have drainage of the pus too to get the best result. If your vet wanted to speak with Simon about the use of Zithromax and dosages, then he can be reached on 01604 478888
