Isathal Eyedrops And No Improvement Recurring Eye Infection Problem.

Maybe someone of you had similar problem and could give any hint or advice...

My one year old guinea pig Gizmo has a recurrent problem with her eye.She had a problem with watery eye back in February we've got Isathal to give twice a day for a week and she was fine.One month later it came back but because the drops were still good to use ( it was before one month life shelf after opening expired ) and she was good again.About two weeks ago eyes became watery again and naturally occurring white liquid started to occur more often than it should also it was drying out around the eye so I thought that maybe this is some irritation from hay dust or something and was clearing the eye with warm water ;it helped to clear it but didn't solve our problem.So I took her to the vet which checked her lungs ( they are clear ) stained her eye to rule out damage ulcers etc ( everything looks OK ) and because her eye wasn't looking that bad vet decided to prescribe Isathal one more time but this time for two weeks and to come for checking after that ( it will be next Thursday).Two first days her eye was looking worse than before and I was about to go back to the vets but didn't because during the night her eye cleared out almost completely just to become same watery etc after next two days.She also squint this eye quite often.We have a visit next Thursday and vet did not say what to do in case the drops will not work.I think they already thinking I'm scaremonger ... I forgot told my vet about the noise my pig makes sometimes when she's eating; I've heard that for the first time about two months ago but my bf said she has that since she was a baby so it's not related to her current problem.Not always but sometimes when she's eating she makes weird sound like a... hooting? Reminds me of owls hooting like she has blocked nose or something but flue or cold has been ruled out and like he said it's not new to her.She's eating and drinking like always.
I trust my vets but I don't think any of them is guinea pig specialist also even the best doctors learn a lot from its experience same like pets owners so always good to have second opinion or something I can tell them.My first guinea died from brain tumour which nearly popped her eye out.They are not related we got them from different places but I'm scared to death to hear this is something same bad or there's nothing they can do...

I am based in Glasgow and use Taylor Vets who are listed in the recommended vet locator at the top of the forum page.

They have branches located in Clarkston, East Kilbride and Cathkin which also has the hospital attached.

The specialist guinea pig vet I use there is called Laura Caldwell. She specialises in guinea pigs and rabbits and also has her own so understands how we all feel when our little furbabies are ill.

They are open from 8am tomorrow morning so I would suggest you ring then and advise them you have a sick guinea pig and need an appointment as soon as possible.

Thanks sooo much @Caron's Cavies and @VickiA for taking your time I really truly appreciate it. Cathkin practise is about 15 minutes away from my place I already made an appointment at my vets for tomorrow morning but I'll try to call Taylor's first and see what they say. I'm scared because last August we lost one of our piggies Lola and her recurring problem with bladder ended with her going over the Rainbow Bridge and I think if you treat something and it's keep coming back then probably there is something more which you can't see.
Where's this lady Laura Caldwell working? I mean which of the three locations?

All the vets in the practice take turns in all 3 practices so you just need to say you need an urgent appointment for a sick piggy. Stress that Gizmo is sick. They will let you know what appointment times they have and which branch she is at. Do you drive so that you can get to another practice if needed although I think Laura is in Cathkin on a Friday as she generally operates in the afternoon there. They are also open Saturday & Sunday.
