Luna has an eye ulcer so I've been putting Isathal on it twice a day. After putting it on tonight, I noticed her sister Ginny licking Lunas bad eye quite intensely. Luna didn't seem to mind but I'm a bit worried about Ginny ingesting the Isathal.
I'm wondering if it tastes nice, or was Ginny just looking after her sister by cleaning gunk from her bad eye?
Should I keep them apart for a while after putting the ointment in? If so how long?
Has anyone had a similar experience?

We've have never heard of any bad effects in companion guinea pigs or guinea pigs with eye injuried even though isathal (formerly fucithalmic) is the most commonly prescribed antibiotic for eye injuries and eye licking is not at all uncommon, nor is coat licking after spilt drops. ;)

If necessary keep Luna on your lap a bit longer to allow the antibiotic to be absorbed a bit more and divert her with a little treat.

It's good stuff, only been a couple of days and Lunas eye is looking so much better. She's opening it normally now so I guess it's not sore anymore.
I wonder if she'll learn to close her eyes when diving head first into a hay pile now? :D:D
