I picked Isiah up this morning to give him a cuddle and I noticed that loads of the fur from his belly has fallen out - he's tri colour and it seems that it is mostly the brown fur which has disappeared, which is pretty much most of his undercarriage. The skin looks fine apart from a small scratch in the middle of the bold area.
I'm wondering if the heat is to blame or whether its to do with the new bedding I started using a few weeks ago (Fitch bedding). I've changed out the cage and put wood shavings back in on top of the Fitch bedding as I always did when I used Megazorb.
He had a full body of fur last week when I gave him a bath - I used baby shampoo as I have always done.
He lives with Ollie who doesn't seem to be missing any fur at all. He's eating and drinking as normal. They are both 2 and a half.
Anyone have any ideas why Isiah might be going bold? :(

Yes definitely see a vet to rule out mites or fungal before anything else. Does the hair come out easily?

Thanks everyone. He did have a small bold patch on his undercarriage once before but it was only the size of a 5p coin and it disappeared eventually. I'll take him to the vet, poor little boy.
Isn't it strange that its just the brown fur!?

I echo the above advice about seeing a vet to check for mites or fungal as I notice he has a little sore on his belly too.

The black fur could quite easily fall out too if it is left to spread.

Good luck x
