As of today we are in isolation for 14 days, my daughter (4) got into bed with me at 3am and she felt on fire, did her temperature and it was over 39, can't get it below 38 even with calpol, she's so sleepy, sore throat and tummy pain, had a video consult with the doctors who think it could be tonsillitis but advised to isolate as they can't rule out covid 😩 hopefully she just has tonsillitis weve been given antibiotics. I feel really achy and dizzy but I think that could be lack of sleep 💖 stay safe everyone

So sorry to hear this, hoping the antibiotics kick in quick and she's feeling better very soon.

Sorry to hear she’s unwell. Hopefully tonsillitis and not Covid-19. Hope you can get some rest as well.

My thoughts are with you and your daughter. I had tonsillitis on and off through many years as a child ( I had them taken out when I was 22). it Always gave me a high temperature. Get well wishes x

We've only been leaving the house for supply's and medicine anyway so it'd be crazy if it was covid. I'm hoping it's tonsillitis but the two youngest were sharing a drink yesterday so it's possible the littlest will catch it too 🤦‍♀️ I've had tonsillitis many times and it always wipes me too, I've never had abdominal pain from it though, she's really complaining about her tummy hurting and very sleepy :( just cuddling her and hoping the antibiotics kick in soon! 🤞

Thinking of you all, hope she bounces back very soon, tonsillitis is horrid and can make children quite poorly, but they recovery very quickly once the antibiotics get to work x

Thankyou everyone, I feel awful today, I can hardly see for a bad headache, sore throat, started coughing a bit and achy, also less taste 😱😩 do you think it's likely a head cold or would it be worth requesting a test kit, we're in isolation anyway xx

I’d get a swab, might give you a clue for all of you. If you are negative then it’s pretty likely your daughter is too.

Abdo pain is common in kids with any infection. Their immune response (like ours) causes their lymph glands to swell but they can really suffer with the ones in their tummy, especially the spleen, as they often mount bigger responses because of a less challenged immune system.

Thankyou I'm on the website now, it actually says you can have a test for anyone in England regardless of age... My daughter is looking better though, she's still sleepy and hass pain but no temp today 😁 I feel bad asking for a swab now because if I'm negative and do get it I may struggle to get another one later xx

I think as long as you have symptoms you can ask for a test. Just because you may test negative on one occasion does not mean that you may not test positive at a later date if you’ve come across the infection at a later date.

Thankyou I will see how it goes, if I still feel poo later I'll order one, we've not left the house since the school closed other than shop and vets though so I think it's unlikely we would have it 😷 hopefully just a head cold 🤞

Although it's unlikely to be Covid, you're entitled to a test and you should ask for one. I really hope you're feeling better soon xx

Hope you all feel better soon. I would definitely get a test, it will put your mind at rest and in the unlikely event it comes back positive then you know you have and it x

It’s worth getting a test just to put your mind at rest.
Hopefully it’s just a nasty cold and you will feel better soon

I've ordered a test this morning, should be here in the next 48 hours, still feel like poo and feel phlemmy on my chest but no phlems actually coming up xx

I hope you're able to get some rest.

Thankyou I've only ordered a test for myself, daddy pigs headache is gone and my daughter isn't in the first 5 days oof symptoms but they are testing under 5s now xx

I'm sure it's just a head cold but I'd sooner know, especially since I'm technically high risk with the diabetes xx
