After my introduction post I read some more then looked through my books. I then went to work and afterwards picked my mother up and went to the pet shops armed with a pad and pen for working out costs on food etc.

Well we looked in the enclosures at them then I noticed an adoption centre inside the shop. Looked in and as soon as I did my heart melted.

There were 2 boys approximately 4 months old which the owner had dropped off to the rescue centre.
I then spoke to the people and decided that rather than getting babies get these 2 as I thought it better to get adopted ones( also as said my heart melted)

I wasnt looking to get any so fast so had to buy a shop cage so I bought the largest they had in there a 120cm one.
Bought some nuggets, bedding etc. Made the donation and brought them home.

They are little sweethearts but still very unsure of us.

I have left them downstairs at the moment so they can get aqquainted with the noises of everybody.

They seem a little more adventurous today-picked them up Friday evening.

I have fed a lettuce leaf by hand but they are still very skittish. I'm trying to do everything as others have said and shown.

They are called Clive and Henry.

I dont have any pictures at the moment as I dont want to spook them out.

120 cages are ok. Just not for 2 boars Obviously the bigger the better though
 
Fantastic. Give them time to settle in and take things nice and slowly with them.
At four months old, they are just starting to hit their teenage months and it is likely you will find that that cage will be too small for them. A 150cm is the minimum I would consider for two boys. A 180cm is the recommended size for two boys.

Thanks it was a spare of the moment thing just to get them out of there. I will get a bigger cage in the next few weeks.

Thank you I will get a bigger cage as soon as possible just I wanted to get them out of there as quickly so they can have a nice home rather than people banging on the glass.
 
Hi! Lucky boys!

Please Give the boys time to settle in and be aware that they will have to re-establish their hierarchy in their new surroundings. Be aware that in your case this is coinciding with the testicles starting to descend so the teenage hormones may kick in any time.

You do not have to feel guilty about the cage; there are several options on how you can enlarge it as teenage boys really need every bit of space you can give them. You may even find a secondhand run or rabbit cage on the local free-ads. With sub-adult boars it is always a good idea to have a space that you can divide if needed. ;)
- consider attaching a pen to their cage (make sure that you have a plastic underlay to protect the floor).
- you can also connect two cages folding the side panels back and by creating a bridge. Another 120cm cage would mean that you have a plan B handy in case your two boys run into trouble during the next 10 months.

aww sometimes things happen for the best and I think these boys have landed on their paws with an owner who has been doing a lot of research. The 120cm cage is ok, its the minimum recommended size according the the RSPCA guidelines however I can only reiterate the above in giving them as much space as possible. Wiebke has give some fantastic ideas that don't involve splashing out on a whole new cage. Keep us up to date with how they get on and I hope things go smoothly for you and the boys
 
Thats why i got the maxxi skyline 120cm by 58cm. It is £32 on zooplus. And the quality is good. Pets@home are asking for £70 for a 120cm cage 🤔😐 and the cage top if so flimsy and awkward. Plud it has a square grid base, making it very difficult to clean out

Thankyou for all that information it will keep me busy tonight while I'm at work. Thankyou my end goal is to have a c and c cage which fills the allocated space I have. Thanks again Thomas.

Thanks the one I got seems ok strength wise it cost me £50.00 but as said I will get a c and c one in the near future. Thanks again Thomas

Similar thing happened to me. I went into Pets at Home just to have a look to see what piggies they had and I fell in love with Velvet and Betsy and got the supplies for them, went home and then went straight back to get them. Then a week or so later I bought a hutch (I already had a cage which is now my hospital cage) 35 days later Velvet had 3 babies and that is how I ended up with 5.

oh no but I bet you love them all.
Its a bad thing isnt it just seeing them in the adoption centre. It made me fall for them.
