since we got all three of our guinea pigs two of them Pepsi and Maltesers have been fighting. we have had to keep them separate for almost a year now. and just a couple of days ago we had to choose one of them to stay at cavy haven and me and my sister couldn't choose so our parents chose and they chose Maltesers. so now i have to live without my little baby boy Pepsi. it has been so hard to deal with. has anyone got any advice of how to deal with this?

thanks in advance

Hi and welcome

I am very sorry that you have had to make that decision. Is this Orange County Cavy Haven in California or Cavy Haven in Winsford UK?

Please be aware that whenever you have to let a piggy go, you essentially go through the full grieving process, which is what you are currently experiencing; but it is one of the scenarious where the feelings of guilt/failure that characterise the onset for any loving owners tend to be much stronger than usual. I know this because I have had to let the occasional piggy go myself over the years when I was unable to give them the conditions/home they needed.
Please take the time to read our grieving guide to make sense of what you are experiencing. The guide also contains plenty of tips and resources to help you cope and find non-judgmental help to talk, which is the best thing you can do.

thank you so much for the help. it was cavy haven Winsford UK

That's a pity! Several of our member on here are fosterers for nearby The Potteries Guinea Pig Rescue, which is on our rescue list of recommended good welfare standard rescues (you can find our rescue locator on the top bar). They could have helped you and you would have been assured that Pepsi was in good hands. :(

Please take good care of yourself and your remaining boys.
