Adult Guinea Pig
The charm of my guinea pigs has finally worn off on my OH! He got two lovely little ladies today and is well and truly taken by them! They are little abby-mixes (he has a thing for 'scruffy pigs' - my Munchie is 'his' little lady!) and seriously gorgeous. They are pet shop piggies as unfortunately there are no small animal rescues in this part of Holland as far as we know - small furries are nowhere near as 'big' here as they are in the UK (you don't see many animals here like dogs at all and I've NEVER seen a cat...). However, they are lovely little girls and I know my OH is going to love them more than he thinks he will.
I think they are rather young; definitely under 6 weeks and I would put them more at 4/5 weeks old! They're very small and very hairy but have huuuuge appetites. We've introduced them to grass and one of them will do just about anything, including trying to get up onto your hand, to get some.
We have gone as big as possible with a ferplast 100 (no 120s here - hutch/cage sizes are scarily small: a 70x30cm which looked suspiciously smaller than that hutch selling as a RABBIT hutch!) which we will be adding to in a few months time with a small C&C addition to give them the floor space they need. I'm going to get some of the B&Q grids for him so he can use them how he wants (I'm thinking we make a 'table' for the cage to sit on and a ramp down into a fleeced 3x2 or bigger depending on where they finally end up)! I'm enjoying the thought of helping with that as I can't have a C&C as my pigs are outside; these two are in his room! Until then though they're going to get loads of time out of the cage roaming round on my blanket (that I was going to need for my journey home but their need is greater than mine).
They are so cute, it was about time my OH fell for their charm and became the newest guinea pig slave. These two will have him wrapped around their little paws! x)
I'll try and get pictures of them very soon!
