Cavy Kung-Fu
Adult Guinea Pig
I just wanted to do a small tribute to my babies who are no longer with me. I usually don’t do this sort of thing but I felt I needed to.
About 3 years ago I lost my beautiful Cissy. She was always so smart, strong and the leader of the herd. She was compassionate and always looked after everyone in the group. After Tonks had the same operation that she did a month later she groomed her and sat with her to make sure she was okay. She always made me want to be better, to be as strong and loving and she always was.
Last year I lost gorgeous Tonks. She was such a special piggy, in more ways than one. Socially awkward but so full of love! Her one good eye meant she would scan around the room regularly and sometimes ran into things but she was always perfect to me. She had 3 operations in her life and was seriously ill at one point but it never stopped her. She was so strong and resilient she inspired me every day. When it came time for her to say goodbye to Cissy she didn’t understand, she tried so hard to wake her and help her stand. I will forever miss her innocence and pure heart.
At the end of April I lost my beloved Iggy and it has been SO hard without him. He had many complications with his health but he was always the happiest pig and always such a good boy. Losing him has left a huge hole in my heart, I will miss him every day. He made me a better pig mum than I ever could have been. Everyone who met him fell in love, he would chat away to you and snuggle right into the crook of your neck and fall asleep. He will forever be my favourite boy in the world, even if he did eat his own poos and then kiss your face. Coming to terms with all of the piggies passing has been difficult for me but this… Well it was a new kind of pain.
I’m now in the process of having some beautiful custom figures made of them by a really lovely lady on TikTok and Etsy, I’ve already seen a sneak peak and it looks fantastic already! I can’t wait to see them every day once more to remember what they’ve taught me as they’ve each changed my life for the better.
Sorry for the long post, it’s more for me than anyone else as it feels good to put into words how incredible and unique each of my babies have been and what they mean to me.
