After all the fuss with little Fluffy and the grumbling underlying eye condition that big Frank suffers with today Flash got in on the act. He was making sounds of discomfort when pooping and he didn't seem to be drinking as much as usual, out he came for metacam, a cuddle and a vibrating pad just in case of bloat. Several enormous poops later that looked a little dry he went back into his home. We took him to the vet for a check up as he has not done this before. The poor little fellas bladder seems to be causing him problems so he's on septrin and is booked in for an xray first thing in the morning. Since being home he's drunk more, eaten lots and done a couple of wees without a squeaking and I'm pleased to say with no discolouration. He is still going to have an xray just in case its stones or sludge. Fingers crossed for him please as like all piggies he is a wonderful little boy and only 15 months old. Its been reassuring reading stories of other pigs who have had stones and recovered well.

Hope all goes okay at the vets tomorrow and you are just dealing with a Infection that will clear up with the septrin. Lots of healing vibes, please keep us updated

Poor Flash :( Sending healing vibes and wheeks from the monsters x

Fingers and paws crossed for him in this house (and that's a lot of fingers and paws,)

Well Flash is home after his xray. The good news is that he does not have stones or sludge but the vet said (and showed us on the xray) that he has a huge amount of food just sitting in his insides despite the huge poops he is doing. I asked if it was a blockage such as a bit of plastic that he may have picked up whilst running around but there was no evidence of this. Flash has been given metoclopramide to encourage his gut and will remain on metacam and septrin. He is back at the vets tomorrow morning for her to check if things are moving and whether he is still uncomfortable. He has been relaxing on a vibrating pad and has now gone back home to munch on hay, we will be encouraging him to drink loads and will give him probiotics. Its all a little strange as he is pooping, they are large about 1 1/4 inches long normal shape but quite dry and light brown rather than a glossy darker colour. he sat next to me for about 1/2 hour on the pad and did around 5 poops. Honestly they are fabulous little animals but such a worry.

Ow strange to have food just sitting there. I really hope it passes through him soon.

Me too as he is a super little boy. Thank you everyone for your kind wishes.

Hope you can get that tummy of his pushing stuff through overnight! Such worry from such small creatures!

All the best! I hope that the gut motility med will help with getting the guts moving again!
