So on top of the fungal infection taking over half my skin I've discovered I've got some sort of viral infection. I slept from 9pm last night til 10.30am this morning, and then fell asleep again for a nap in the afternoon. Now my window is thrown wide open even though it's 2 degrees outside because I'm far too warm! Which means I'm running a temp. Ooh joys.

The boys are getting absolutely no lap time or floor time during all this. I feel for them, they're missing out, but I refuse to risk infecting them with god knows what. Anyone got any tips on enrichment beyond the usual cardboard tubes stuffed with hay etc?

I am sorry to hear you are feeling ill, there are so many nasties doing the rounds at the moment. Sending you hugs and hope you feel better soon.
Other than the usual cardboard boxes, paper bags stuffed with hay mine love a scrunched up piece of fleece/blanket/vetbed to climb over in, the exploration causes much chattering.

Sorry you not well hope you feel better soon. Sleep is good to allow the body to recuperate
Our 3 girls don’t really care for toys, they weren’t that bothered with a cardboard tube filled with hay, but they do love a paper bag filled with hay. I think they prefer something they can get into/ in with.
Get well soon, hugs xx

The boys love a paper bag, just sadly I don't have any for once :<

They are hard to find... and as mine wee in them, the paper bags don’t last very long until they have to be thrown. Xx

I cut the bottom part off the bag so that the wee and poo goes on the hay/fleece instead of on the bag. My piggies also enjoy walking around whilst under the bag.

Mate that sucks. Sorry you are so ill at the moment. The boys won't be missing out too long, in the end all will be forgiven with lots of cuddles and treats when you are well

Self care first, the boys will be fine as they are in their fabulous large cage and can move around freely. You need to get well first. Sorry that you are so poorly. I am only just starting to feel human again after the flu virus knocked me out from before Xmas.

I'm still not fully recovered from a bout of gastro I had two weeks ago, I know it sucks to be sick. I hope you have considered going to the doctors. I hope you are feeling better soon.

I thought I was feeling better til I slept for 16 hours last night :td: so tired...

I fell asleep at 5pm and woke up at 9.30am lol. What a waste of an evening! Although it was pointed out to me today that I may not have a virus at all, but instead my iron and B12 levels might be low. Argh, more blood tests.

Low iron levels make you feel really washed out and you can't do anything as you are so tired. At least low iron is easily sorted nowadays by taking iron tablets. My gorgeous and lovely late Gran had to eat raw liver sandwiches!:vom::yikes:

Oh hell no, even the smell of liver makes me vomit. It's not likely my iron levels anyway those are always on the low side. My B12 levels however I was meant to get injections for 8 months ago and I never actually bothered....oops.

Get those B12 injections - hopefully that will solve the problem.
Hope you do begin to feel better soon.
