So it was time to say goodbye to Bacon’s luscious locks

I took some of your advice and left it alone for as long as possible but it was starting to get in the way, trailing on the fooor and picking up pee and poo

Before (I didn't even move the hair, this is just how it was always sat)

And after

Let’s just say I won’t be making a career out of it, but at least it looks a bit better!
Sorry for the blurry first photo!

They've got a lot of chaos left in them, left for less than 10 seconds to get bribery (only a bowl of pellets across the room) and I'm standing at the pink tub getting pellets (I did leave him sitting comfortably on his duvet) I turn around and he is perched on the very end of the bed, and he jumped off!
Plenty chaos left!

He's fine though, or it would be a totally different thread I'd be posting!

I am glad he is doing well aside from missing some of his bum hair. I too was glad to find he didn't die.

With regard to the unprofessional bum haircut, I can relate, :tu:. My boy Finn complains a lot so I can't do a professional haircut even if I want to.

I’m a useless piggy hairdresser. Mine all end up with lopsided choppy hair. But it’s definitely better than wee and poop matted hair.
He looks very tidy

Great haircut! Can I ask what type of piggie you have here? It just that Bacon looks very very similar to Gregory in terms of colouring, shiny fur & long hair round the backside.

Going to be honest, I’ve absolutely no clue what breed he is!

Probably a smooth with some sheltie or another long haired breed in his ancestry (hence the longer fur)

His hair is about double the length of Smokey’s (who is a crested smooth) just to give you a rough idea of how long it actually is

He's a bit younger in this snap but his hair is getting longer esp at the back and on his head! Almost lion like. Bacon is beautifully shiny!
When we first got Bacon he had fur only very slightly longer than Smokey’s, and it just kept getting longer

Same, he's only 7 months and his fur has grown loads...I'll aim for a neat trim like yours when I do it! I'll leave him be for now though as he was neutered 2 weeks ago & I'm certain doesnt want me faffing about his rear end

Glad I'm not the only one who thought the worst.
A pretty good trim though for your handsome boy.

Priscilla is going to get he same treatment today - I suggested to my husband he could help so she might not get too lopsided a trim.
he helpfully suggested the hedge trimmer!

I just took it but by bit between my fingers and probably chopped of about a centimetre
Doesn’t help that my scissors are old and blunt so they only cut it if you used the bottom nearest the handle, so it probably pulled his fur a bit!
