I have a hutch in the garden that my dad built it's probably about six years old but it hasn't being lived in since our rabbits and sows died. It's has two levels so our netherland dwarf buns lived on one level and our girls on the other. Anyway I want to be able to put the boys outside in it come summer only the hutch is in rather a sorry state.
It needs a new roof and new doors. The roof didn't have any protection only the metal sides of washing machines placed on top of the wood (my dad mends them) so it's all rotten on the top, the buns chewed the wood on one of the doors and one of the hinges snapped on the other.
So I'm intending (and by I, I obv mean my dad
) on replacing the roof and having it hinged so it can be lifted up and properly weather protecting it with a bit of felt or what not. Height wise on the bottom level isn't that big so i'm intending on putting a ramp in so they can use both levels. I'll also be sanding it and giving it a new lick of paint.
I just need to get my dad motivated into starting. If I try and do anything other than sanding or painting it will probably collapse
Once I get him motivated I shall get Kevin McCloud to come round and do a bit of narrating while i take pictures
