Thanks to my farming years I just get on with what needs doing, but I make a point of checking the girls bums for any signs of mess or fly strike and now flash and his man bits for anything that needs cleaning/removing all thanks to reading about checking it out on here.

So far I have three times had to pull hairs (yes it was hair) out of flash's bits rolleyes and then I had to pull a long hair out of fudges bits rolleyes. Flash was done a couple of months ago at the rescue so I know he isnt able to surprise me, but really, hairy bits :{:)) (I think they are more likely picking it up from the fleece as its rather hairy, have brushed it off each day but hair gets everywhere)

Indy has this problem...he always gets hay and hair stuck in his anal sac and it stinks! :)>>> Being a farmer girl too...by name and by nature :)), I'm not squeamish about these sort of things, but that really does stink lol. Why did I ever think boys would be a good idea :)).

Eugh, the joys of owning animals . . . I'm glad my boys never seemed to get dirty or hairy around there . . . so far. :))

I have this exact problem!

Damon gets hay and hair stuck up there, and I have to pull it out.
Must be horrid for him - haha! Yuck x

Well, they are a bit "low slung" so it's just a hazard of the anatomy, so to speak! :))

I hope Flash is your guinea pig and not a pet name for your OH, hehe!

Alan always gets long hairs or bits of hay stuck in his willy; I always get the OH to pull it out as I say I can't hold him and pull! :)):))

:)) no flash is a piggie, not the OH :))

Poor loves, having it all dangling in a precarious position like a walking hair sucker up :))

I wish I hadnt been eating a cookie whilst reading this thread..

I am very squeamish and brace myself everytime I peak. Never been exactly sure what I'm looking for but just check all looks normal!

some boars are bottom-draggers and I find that those of mine who are/were so were more likely to get their bits tangled! My current two, although not great with personal hygiene (@)) never seem to have any problem with their bits... just regular bum baths and butt trims...:{

I check my boys bits everyday, this is because one time when I left it for a couple of days before checking I discovered Barney had his own hair wrapped around his willy and it had gone purple due to the circulation being cut off. He is a swiss cross and sheds a lot, all the hair he sheds seems to stick to his bits so I am a regular for having to remove bits of hay, grass, hair and even herbs sometimes from his willy and bum. Thankfully Bradley and Rodney aren't as bad due to them having shorter hair. Poor Barney has even had to have tweezers near his man hood as a long strand of hay had gone so far up his willy. Lol nothing can make me squeamish anymore! :))

this reminds me of the time I introduced my Romeo(castrated) to my girls, the girls were happily eating grass, Romeo bless him was so excited and couldnt stop humping the ladies..

after the fun for him was over i figured i better check on his bits (as this was the first time he had "humped" since his op)

i looked and thought, omg! whats that?! i was shocked, soon realised he had a feather stuck on his willy..:)) must of picked it up from the grass.. rolleyes

i know it shouldnt but this thread really made me giggle :)) i hate checking boar bits, but boris gets a check every day without fail, just a few rogue strands of hay so far. they need little piggy stilts!
