what a busy morning I have had :o and still more to do:{

Anyway, new floor is down, I have put it ontop of the old top floor as there wasnt much wrong with it but at the moment there is a hole where the ramp used to be (which the previous owners removed to split the hutch) so I really couldnt put them in the hutch with a whaking great hole :o and I want to insulate the floor of the top part a little more to make is a little warmer for them so that was why I have decided to put in this new floor.

I chopped it myself, I have cut up the other planks of wood to size ready to make a ramp but I wont put the new ramp in till I have a tunnel to go over the whole thing so its safer for them to use. All is now painted (with safe paint) and I am rather chuffed with myself on how I have done. The outside is going to have a second paint ready and I need to make a temp cover as there is a slight leak up top - although I had discovered the hutch had sunk into the newly levelled ground so I have now put it on bricks and made sure it was slanting the right way rather than forwards as it was ") (my bad).

And just to try the new beds out for size I plonked them in - they fit perfectly 8)

and just remind you how it looked before I started working on the hutch

you wouldnt think it but the bottom part is now clean - its just wee stains, but as this part will be the play area I am not worried that it is black and white now, it will probably get worse with mine in.

I am getting so excited, I think they will love their hutch and the other thing I realised while doing all this work - come this time next year I can do this all again, spruce it up, repair it and make it their home ready for the warmer weather again.

Just to add how much of an achievement this is, bit of a long story but I used to be a farmer and would do all sorts of jobs and tasks repairing things so I have the skills to make do and mend sort of thing, however after I left farming (huge accident which perminantly damaged my left hip and shoulder) I had another life changing accident outside of the job I had got then, changing a tyre for a work colleague - as I could and that perminantly damaged my right wrist so I can no longer do half the things I used to (I used to do the basic maintenance on my own car for instance), holding tools is an effort and sawing has taken a lot of effort but I have done it xx>>>

It can be a little frustrating not being able to do half the things I could do, and I do tend to be very naughty and suffer for my efforts. After I have finished this I will have to splint my wrist up to let it recover - but its worth it ;)

Oh you sound like my mummy, never giving up, still fighting to do these things, but suffering afterwards, you've done a brilliant job, well done, hope you aren't in too much pain :)

I am ignoring it at the moment, still have a last coat of paint on the outside to do and then hammering in them nails to complete the ramp - then I can measure it and order the tunnel 8)

And the second coat of paint on the shed to do :o pray for a sunny day tomorrow please, then I its all done and ready. Plus I have done wash 1 for the fleece that will be going down on the new floor, need to so the second wash before I put them down

Wow! It doesn't even look like the same hutch!
You'll know all your works paid off when they get in and start popcorning everywhere! :D

Well done it looks really brilliant!
