Goth Mummy
Adult Guinea Pig
This was our darling Banshee-Cat. We got her in January 1999, just after we graduated from Uni and my husband got his first job as a housing officer managing a block of flats. Banshee was found abandoned on the roof and no tennant claimed her. She was very thin and hungry, so my husband brought her home. She was terrified for the first few weeks and spent most of her time in the cupboard under the sink!
We got her spayed as soon as we could handle her and discovered that she had early stage uterine cancer, but were told that hopefully the spay got everything malignant out....
Over the months she soon became our constant companion, never left our side willingly. We named her Banshee because she talked and wailed all the time. Constantly! My mother used to say the cat drove her mad with her constant talking.
My husband adored her and he used to carry her around the house!
We had to have her put to sleep on 28th November 2008. She had sudden kidney failure, she had gone missing for 3 days and then we found her lying down and looking dreadful. I live with the guilt that I could have noticed earlier. At that time I was nursing a despearately ill horse (who died weeks later) and had just had a miscarriage. I will always worry that I was so busy and miserable that i missed something, and that we could have done something to give us more time with Banshee.
Banshee-Cat, we miss you and love you and I know we will see you again. Your daddy still misses you
