Just wanted to pop a post up because it's very, very hot, which is unusual for Wales, to remind people to make sure that their pets have well ventilated shade for all the animals out enjoying the grass and sun, and to provide water bottles which are also shaded to keep the water cool. You can freeze bottles of water to put in and/or use ceramic tiles, for somewhere cool to lie. It's so hot here that most of the animals are laid out and not bothering with the grass. Animals with pink ears/noses may need sunblock too (cats and horses in particular) Enjoy the sun and stay safe everyone!

you mention sunblock? is a human one okay, and what spf?

yes, I use the highest factor I can get on 2 of my horses that have pink noses if not they get bad sunburn, Sienna absolutely hates it and I have to hide it in a back pocket so she can't see it before I put it on. She's out on loan at the moment, so her auntie has that to tackle instead of me today.

I haven't put my girls out today, its just been too hot. Will try and put them on the grass tomorrow, if there is some shade. I think today I will just bring them in some grass :)

Been puting everyone out here at around 6.30am and getting them in 11ish before it gets too hot :)

28 degrees outside here at the mo ...............:)

PS - ceramic tiles work brilliantly - my pigs and buns are all flopped out on them :)

My piggies are living on the top floor of a childs wooden play house, and by 9.30am it was too hot for them. So they have been spending everyday recently on the lawn in the shade, they seem very happy. Will give them a bath tomorrow :)

ooooooooooohhhhh thats better in this hot weather
