It's The Cardboard!

I bought my pair a couple of new carrot cottages - nothing wrong with the old ones, but extra hideys...or something. Comet's still insisting on making his zoomies circuits around them, lol.

But looking at the new ones compared to the old ones, I've realised they'd stripped everything down to the cardboard shell then left that behind. They don't like the cardboard. They aren't fond of paper either since they won't eat paper bags.

I'm going to have 4 carrot cottage shells left behind at this rate...but at least they'll barely need replacing more than once a year!

Mine do the same, chew around the edges and then strip the house down. I just throw the cardboard away once they've finished eating.

Yup, and joked that they've managed to keep them going for 9 months now lol. They use them as bedrooms, so removing them always seemed a tad cruel.

You're lucky - I only get about a fortnight out of them!

My first ones lasted a fair while. I think it took a while to work out they could eat the cardboard lol. What's betting the next one disappears quicker

Well it's been 3 days so far and there's still no visible outer damage
