As some of you will know we had to seperate 2 of our boars about 6 weeks ago and I was so upset. Jem got a new friend fairly quickly as he was the victim of the aggression and was very unhappy on his own.
We waited to see how Jasper coped and he seemed very content by himself. But the last 3 weeks or so he has become quite withdrawn and although more of a grazer than a big eater, some days doesnt eat his veg at all :( Most days he sits in his tent and wont come out.
I have been so worried as we have ended up with 5 guinea pigs and my husband really didnt want so many! Originally we thought we would have to give our boy up as that was the unselfish option, to give him a good home that had room for him to get a friend.
However my OH does have a soft spot for our Jasper and hates to see him so sad. And he doesnt want to see him go either. Last night we decided we would take him friend dating and get him a companion, and keep him :<> If it's boars he doesn't like then we will have him neutered and get him a wife. So we will have 6 piggies! I am so relieved.
Sorry for the long post, i will keep you posted!

Great news indeed!

Best of luck with the dating! Tell Jasper to behave! :))

awwwwwww i wondered how things were going .......
You're doing so much for this little guy xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

Jasper be a good boy and have fun on your date :)

We have been in touch with the rescue who are going to let us know when a suitable boar comes along. I really dont want him neutered if we can avoid it. We will 'borrow' a baby and watch closely if no single boars are available. Fingers crossed!
