So if your piggies live outdoors, check they have their winter bedding and thermal covers etc!

I just popped outside, and noticed that the roof of my car is freezing. I shouldn't be surprised despite the sun today, as my outdoor thermometer read <2° this morning and it is late October, but I think I haven't quite adjusted to it not being summer any more!
The weather app on my phone says it is 5° now, falling to 2° later, but my weather station says it is actually already down to 2° , ice alert time.
Hope everybody and everypig is keeping snuggly warm! 🥶🧣

Just been out to check on my boys and give them their snugglesafes. They are cosy and warm in their hutch in the shed.
I was so concerned with making sure the boys were cold weather ready and had lots of hay, all their blankets/covers and snugglesafes that I forgot to adjust my heating programmer and it is now cold upstairs in our house..😐

Just put an extra duvet on the bed, put on a pair of jimjams and take a hot water bottle to bed 😁

The sacrifices we slaves make for our furry masters! Hope you managed to warm your upstairs up before bedtime 🥶

Mine are indoor piggies but I still moved them to a warmer part of the house, where the walls are facing the inside of the house rather than the outside.
My boy Finn loves to see the outside so I have a separate cage near the window looking outside so he can look outside during the daytime when the sun comes out. He has to go back to his warm house when the sun goes down. Lara on the other hand hides inside her hidy when the sun comes out.

We've just rearranged my husband's shed so the girls have a better run area with their hutch for the winter, it's about 2 metres by 2.5m with their double height hutch included, we've put down the children's old play mats so they're not on the concrete, the snuggle safes have arrived today so the only thing left to get is a thermometer to be absolutely sure they are warm enough. Looks great! Do you have hutch covers?

I was awake overnight and apparently cold enough that my Raynauds flared up. It rarely does that these days, so it was clearly more than cold enough!
