beth had so many knotts and gets so distressed when i comb her hair, so i decided to cut her hair short, i decided to practice on maggie-may as she sits still for longer...

...so after a couple of hours, i ended up with two new piggies! well, almost. but they look hilarious! Andy's going to be devastated when he comes back...how can i break it to him that i actually did this this time? ruby normally barbers the others, but she does better hairstyles than me!!

Wow, you did a really good job!

I think there's a gap in the market for guinea pig grooming salons...

haha, i cant help but crack up when i see them, i was doing it so seriously, copying nicky clarke/trevor sorbie and everything! but they ended up like THAT! pmsl x

they are cute! I think you will become a professional hairdresser if you are already copying NIcky Clarke! :))

hehe, most of my idols are hairdressers believe it or not! i didnt do very well though rolleyesrolleyesrolleyesrolleyes

lol, if you saw them before, you wouldnt think so! but my attempt has cracked me up!

have you got some BEFORE pictures for comparison?

You did a great job! They both look gorgeous. It takes some serious skill to get any kind of haircut done when on your own with piggies. I used to have great fun with my Tuppy, she'd kick, scream and scratch something terrible when it came to haircut time. You get more of a skill with each haircut - though there is nothing wrong at all with your first attempt!

I knew I cut my barbie's hair when I was younger for a reason, it was to practise for when I got longhaired guinea pigs! lol

It's a good job though.

I must admit I like them either way - they're just gorgeous!

I grew up with peruvians, and my very own boy used to play trampoline on my belly when it came to combing time. Mostly, I just cut the long hairs at the bottom end, because they got always soiled. unless they were too matted.

Now, of course, I haven't got any room for artistic licence, as Dizzy went straight for the plainest boy available, with half an ear missing when she was offered the choice of new companion. But she really adores him, and he has a way of melting into the ground when she cuddles him - bless her!

But I'm quite, quite jealous!

Do you keep your pigs on straw and woodshavings? It could be why their hair is getting tangled.

Yes, you might get the occasional woodchip or bit of straw entangled, but mostly its simply from moving around while sleeping...

PS: I didn't want to sound as bad about Llewelyn as I might have come over. He's a very likeable lad with a sweet face, and I love him to bits. But seeing your gorgeous pics, I just can't help wishing that his hair was that little bit longer!
