I live next to an old railway line which used to transport Queen Victoria up to Balmoral Castle at the turn of the century. It is now a forest walk and I have found the most plentiful supply of rich grass. The blades are about 1/2 metre long and the darkest green you can imagine, almost blue green. My friend is a gardener and he confirmed that it is indeed grass so I have been feeding this to the boys along with their normal veg. I go down with my scissors and fill up a bag. I then rinse it and divide it up for a few days.

The boys absolutely love it! They have had it for about 2 months and they chatter their teeth angrily if it is not given to them first. They lie down in their indoor run with a massive blade happily chewing it. Like a piece of spaghetti! Both have put on lots of weight and it is a joy to see them chomp away at this lovely, premium grass.

I also found a dandelion haven with leaves measuring the length of my arm! It's great! THey only get a couple of those and they are so crunchy.

However, all things come to an end and my supply of premium grass is dwindling! The season is coming to an end and I don't think the boys will be happy to go back to my plain old garden grass!

oh well boys will be boys ;D ;D ;D all good things must come to an end O0 glad they have been having fun and stuffing their little mouths O0 i love it when one is eating a blade of grass and another one comes along and bits the other end and they have a tug of war with it. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: a bit like lady and the tramp with the spaghetti. O0 hoping your boys can eat common grass after eating the blue blood caviar(sp) of grass ;D ;D ;D hugs to your lucky boys :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
